MILK A COW!...MAKE BUTTER!...FEED A CALF!

At the Aldor Acres Dairy Centre we focus on educating people about agriculture in general & dairy farming in particular, in a fun, hands on kind of way. Groups visiting our farm will experience the sights, sounds, & smells of a real dairy farm. You will be encouraged to try new activities on your visit. A visit to the Aldor Acres Dairy Centre is an excellent field trip opportunity for primary and intermediate grade levels. Secondary students taking sciences and culinary arts also benefit from our programs. Families and other groups are also welcome. We simply ask that you pre-book!

Your trip to the farm starts with a short video introducing you to dairy farming. Next, you move into the milking parlour theatre where you can comfortably observe the real milking. (We offer a flexible start time for any group of 15 or more people.) During the milking there will be a variety of things to try. Perhaps you will hand milk a live cow on the show floor, separate cream, make some butter, or feed the calves. Following the milking, groups will be given a guided tour through the cow & calf feeding and housing facility.

Chocolate milk samples will be provided. Please be advised that we have discontinued our complimentary activity books in an effort to help the environment.

Save $1 per student on your next visit to the Aldor Acres Dairy Centre.

The Aldor Acres Dairy Centre is now offering a rebate back to your school or PAC committee with the referral of a new School or Teacher who visits the Aldor Acres Dairy Centre in 2009. We, at the Dairy Centre, appreciate and would like to recognize those teachers who refer us to others by `Word of Mouth`.

Effective March 1st, 2009, any first time teacher or school that visits the Aldor Acres Dairy Centre by way of teacher referral will be charged the regular rate, and $1 for every student that visits on that field trip day will be credited to YOUR (the teacher referring) class field trip for 2009, or sent by way of a cheque back to your school or PAC committee if your 2009 field trip has already taken place.

• $8.00 per child
• $4.00 per adult
• Teachers are free
• All rates include the GST
• (15 person minimum)
General admission:
• $9 per person
• 2 and older
• year round by appointment
• no minimum group size
• 4:00 pm tour time
Ice Cream Cones are available from March - October following your tour for $2.75

CARBON INCENTIVES: Bus groups will SAVE 50 cents per child.

Carpool with a minimum of 4 occupants per vehicle and SAVE 25 cents per child.
